Book Review: 세종한국어 1

Today i'm going to share a book review to all of you. The book that i will review is a book for Korean Language Student, especially for a beginner level student who want to study Korean language. The title of this book  is written in Korea, that is "세종한국어 1", which means Korean Language Sejong 1 in English. For your information, Sejong here means King Sejong. He was a Korean King who created the Korean Alphabet, mostly known as Hangul. He was really an honorable king who is very concerned with his people. Actually i'm also interested to write about King Sejong, but maybe i will write it in another post.

Okay, get back to the topic, "세종한국어 1" (Read: Sejong Hangugeo 1)  is a book to study Korean Language in a beginner level. It is published by The National Institute of The Korean Language. In this book there are 12 chapters. I use this book in my Korean Language Class (You can read it in my previous post) and i used to learn one chapter for each class meeting. What i really like from this book is in each chapter there is always a new theme with new grammar to be learned and new vocabularies for each theme. For example when i learn chapter 7. Chapter 7 entitled "날씨"(Read: Nal ssi). 날씨 means weather. So, i will learn all about weather vocabularies in chapter 7 and a new grammar as well. Chapter 8 entitled "시간" (Read: Si Gan). 시간 means time. So in chapter 8 we will learn a grammar which is related about how a time should be represented in a sentence and we also will learn about another vocabularies related with time.

This book content in each chapter contains speaking, listening, reading, and writing, which i think the full package to study language. For listening itself, we will also get a CD inside the book for all listening materials. Besides, what i also like from this book is this book is full color with many pictures inside which make me interested to open each page and not feeling like study but having fun.

In Indonesia, i don't know whether there is a bookstore which sell this book or not. But what i know is we can get this book Online and this book will directly imported from Korea. I myself got this book from buying it Online in Yes24 Online Store.

Hope you will have fun learn Korea with this book. Happy study :)

"Korean Cultural Center Indonesia", from its name i think all of you will know what place it is.
Yap, this is the Korean Cultural Center which is built by Korean Government to introduce and spread Korean Culture in Indonesia. Besides, in this place, we can build a friendship between Korea and Indonesia through the exchange of culture.

This Korean Cultural Center Indonesia (abbreviated as KCCI) is located in Jakarta. The exact position is in 17th floor of Equity Tower. Equity Tower itself located in front of Pacific Place, in SCBD (Sudirman Central Business District Indonesia) Area. If you want to come to KCCI just mention the address that I've mentioned, that was the easy direction that i can tell, hehe.
KCCI is located in this building

In Korean Cultural Center Indonesia, there are many facilities that you will meet:
1. Class Room
Korean Cultural Center has four classrooms that will be used as Korean language course classroom and other cultural courses. This classroom is the facility that i mostly use because i am the Korean Language Student in KCCI. The classroom is really wide, comfortable, and clean. I think this is the comfortable classroom to learn and study. There is one fixed rule in this classroom, that is you are not allowed to eat the food in class. I think this rule that make our class clean.

The condition to borrow is first we must be registered as KCCI member and after that we have to register our self to the library staff as the library member.

In IT Show Room, there is a large TV to watch the live broadcast of Korea as well as a 3D TV to witness the appearance of the Hallyu superstar in 3 dimensions and 3 pieces large monitor for a PC equipped with Korean online games. So that we can feel the progress of Korea information technology. What i really like from this room is we can watch many Korean TV programs here and we also can surf the internet from the PC that is provided.

Korean Traditional Clothes : Hanbok

Hi all...........
Today I'm going to write about Hanbok.

Hanbok for woman
Yes right, this is the traditional clothes from Korea. Nowadays Korean people are not wearing hanbok all day long like the people from Joseon era. But Korean people still keep their Hanbok to be used for special times and another festive day in Korea, such as for wedding ceremony, religious service, and etc.

Hanbok is well know for having
many attractive colours. The clothes have many different colours and it is colored using natural dyes. Moreover hanbok is also well know for its design in which the upper part is narrow and the lower part is wide. What i really like from hanbok is the skirt part that is so wide and flexible so that i feel so graceful using hanbok. Not to mention all the time i walk using hanbok make me feels like dancing because its wide and flexible skirt.

Parts of Woman Hanbok:
On the top of our body, we will use "jeogori". Jeogori is the top part of the clothes that is formed along the boundary under the armpit. The front area is made longer to cover the chest area. Next, on the upper part, the woman will use "chima". Chima is a kind of skirt which is
round and expand. That skirt lengths from the chest and ranging up to cover the feet.

Part of Man Hanbok:

Jeogori for Men, in general, is slightly different compared to jeogori for women. For men, the size of jeogori is from the shoulder up to waist and even longer. Meanwhile, on the upper part of our body, the man will use "Baji". Baji is a pants that will be used to cover the upper part of man's body. The form of this pant is changing over the time.

The main point is i really feel beautiful using this beautiful Hanbok.

Me and Lee Bong Im Seonsaengnim
Hello everyone,
It's been a long time :)
Now i want to share my new activity to all of you. Yeah, from the title, i guess all of you know what i will write about.
I really enjoy my Korean Language Class right now. It's been about 1 year i study Korean language in Korean Cultural Center Indonesia (KCCI). KCCI itself located on 17th floor of Equity Tower, Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD), South Jakarta. There are 8 class levels if we study in KCCI: Sejong 1, Sejong 2, Sejong 3, Sejong 4, Sejong 5, Sejong 6, Sejong 7, until Sejong 8. Now i'm still in Sejong 2 Class. After pass the examination of each class level, you will get the certificate from KCCI.

My Sejong 1 Class

What i like about Korean Language Class in KCCI are:
1. The teacher is a native speaker so we get used to speak Korean in Class. Not to mention the learning method that is used by the teacher makes us get accustomed to speak Korean and to use Korean even more in daily activities.
2. I got many friends there. It's fun having class with the people that have the same hobby with you isn't it?
3. The place is great and comfortable, the library is filled with many Korean books, the computer room is great, helping us to understand Korean even more with all those facilities.
4. The most important factor why i like to have a course in KCCI is it's CHEAP. I think, compared with the other course place, this is the cheapest course place ever with the BEST quality. What i will say is i just have to pay Rp 800.000 to get one course level with the qualified teacher and the great classroom. Whoa, can you really imagine it?

So, don't think two times, let's register your self to come and join Korean language class in Korean Cultural Center Indonesia. Hope you will like Korean more through the language. I also hope someday i can go to Korea and practicing talk to Korean people with Korean Language that I've learned. :)
