How to watch Korean TV Music Program for free (How to get SBS THE SHOW ticket for free)

Hello guys, now pandemic is over (actually not really 100% over), but yes at least now we finally can watch concert or music show again. Clap clap clap.

Okey, in this episode of blog, I want to give you information about how you guys can enter Korean TV Music Program for free. If you guys are Kpopers, This is the experience that you guys should try at least once.

There are actually many music programs for Kpop, you can list it, there are music bank, inkigayo, the show, and etc. But in this blog, I will only share how to enter to 'SBS The Show' Music Program. That's because I only had experience watching live kpop music show there. I didn't know about how to enter other korean tv music shows. If you guys know how to enter other korean tv music shows, please share the information on comment box below.

Okay, so to enter for free, for you guys international fans who happen to reside in Korea, or planning to go to Korea, you guys just need to follow these tips:

1. Follow KTO (Korea Tourism Organization) on Facebook.
There are so many information about Korea tourism on the KTO Facebook page. One of the information including SBS The Show ticket. That's why you should know about the latest information updated on the page.

2. Register yourself and follow the instructions.
Once you get the information, then you must register yourself and follow the instructions written on the announcement. Back then, it was soooo easy. I only had to fill the application form provided. Then, you need to check your email, because they will give the noticement through email.

3. Go to Sangam SBS Prism Tower one hour prior to the show.
If you got chosen to attend the show, now you just need to go to SBS Prism Tower. To reach Sangam SBS Prism Tower, here is the direction: get on the subway, and get off at Digitalmediacity station, go to Exit 9, then just walk straight around 400 m, and turn left. The building will be on the left side of the street.

SBS Prism Tower

The live show will begin exactly at 18:30. However, they will ask you to come one hour prior to the show (must arrive on-site at 17:30), because you need to register before you enter the venue.

Important Notes: One thing that you must remember, once you enter the venue, you are not allowed to take any photos inside (strictly prohibited). If the staff notice you taking any photos, they will immediately delete the photos, or you may be forced to leave the studio. That's why I don't have the photos of Kpop artist that I saw in the studio. But the positive side is I remember that I was able to enjoy the performances more because we were unable to take pictures. Anyway, no need taking pictures, because memories will last forever, right?

How to Watch Dream Concert in Korea (Dream Concert 2017, My First Ever Kpop Concert in Korea)

Dream Concert,

It is a very big Kpop Concert in Korea, with so many idols and artists. The performers are boy groups, girl groups, and solo singers. And with all that performers, you only have to pay cheap cheap cheap price. That's why I love watching concert in Korea because it's super cheap. If I compare it to watching Kpop concert in my country, of course the price of ticket is more expensive when you watch Kpop concert in your own country (because maybe they have to pay for the accommodation, they need to pay for like hotel, flight, and everything).

So, this 2017 Dream Concert is the very first Kpop concert I've ever had in Korea. I watch with my friend, Mbak Risa, she is my friend in graduate school who also fond of  Kpop like me. I still remember we bought the ticket for only 50.000 KRW (It's actually considered cheap if you compare when you watch it in your own country). But you know, actually the real price is much much cheaper than that, only 10.000 KRW. We bought at that price because you know the competition of getting the concert ticket in Korea is super super super difficult. Just for a few seconds, and the the tickets are all sold out. At that time me and my friend actually already tried to buy the tickets by our self in their website. We even sat at the computer lab just to get the super fast access of wifi. But still we didn't get it. So yeah we bought it from the Korean seller who wants to sell their ticket at higher price (It's worth it though).

I watched because of BTOB, gladly we got a seat in the area where Melody sat. Super super amazing experiences because I can sing and do the fanchant together with other Melody. You can see the amazing performance by BTOB here in my video.

But you know, other than BTOB, there are many more artists and idol groups performed at Dream concert. That's why I guarantee you that it's super worthy to watch a Dream Concert.

Me and my friend, the first dream concert for both of us

The venue, Seoul World Cup Stadium

We were queuing to enter the venue

The ticket

I didn't have official lightstick at that time,
so just bought this one

How to Go to Super Junior Kyuhyun Cafe, "Mom House" Cafe

Here is another blog to guide you to "Idol" Cafe, "MOM HOUSE" Cafe.

Super Junior has always been one of my favorite Kpop groups ever. Me and most of my friends at my age, we all mostly know Super Junior, and we really like their song. Now you know my age lol.  And especially for me, Super Junior is one of groups that brought me to fall into Kpop music. When I lived in Korea, I went to three cafes owned by Super Junior families, first cafe is  Donghae cafe (I already made post about it here), then I continue the journey to Kyuhyun Cafe (Mom House), and the last but not least there is Yesung Cafe (Maybe I will make a post about this cafe later).

I wonder why the name of this cafe is Mom House, maybe because this cafe is owned by Kyuhyun's mom??? (If anyone knows behind story about the name of this cafe, please just comment below hehe).

Anyway, in this cafe, like the other cafes, you can order cake and coffee, and hang out with your friends here. Because they provide many tables and wifi. But there is other service that they provide, that is a guest house. If someday you travel to Korea, this "Mom" Guest House can be one of your options to stay because it's really near to Myeongdong, favorite shopping area for tourist and everyone's destinations when they visit Seoul.

coffee that I ordered

I believe that I still keep the tissue lol

Inside the cafe you can find many photos, pictures, and gifts from fans for Kyuhyun. They put those things in cafe as the decoration. Here they are.

So, here is the direction to go there:
- You can take the subway, get off at Myeongdong Station, and get out from the Exit number 2.
Exit Number 2, in front of the north face store, I wonder in 2022 the store still there or not, pic source: Google map

- After that, just keep going straight a little bit (only around 50 meters), and then you will find the Hotel Prince and the shop "Alpha" located between the alley, you turn right to that alley.

- And just keep your eyes on your left side, because the cafe will be on left side, you just need to walk a little bit along the alley (maybe around 50 meters walk only, p.s. the road is a bit uphill), and then you will find the cafe on your left side. No need to worry to find it, because they put a large sign "MOM House" in front of the cafe.
Taraaaa, we arrive safely

Exploring my city, Sejong City, the New Administrative City of Korea

Sejong City, have you guys heard about this city before?

Most of you may still unfamiliar to this city, that's why i want to introduce you to this brand new city.

Sejong City was founded in 2007 as the new planned capital of South Korea. The purpose is to ease congestion and crowd in Seoul. If you ever heard Putrajaya City of Malaysia, the reason for the construction of this city might similar like Sejong City. And in Indonesia, you may also know that city in Kalimantan will be built as the new capital city as well because Jakarta is already too crowded.

Sejong City was planned to become the new administrative city of South Korea, that's why since 2012, the government of South Korea has relocated numerous ministries and agencies to Sejong City. The new buildings of ministries and agencies has been built in Sejong, which is in my opinion the buildings are built with a very great architecture. There is this one building that i saw it has a bridge or connect one building to another building so it can be so much efficient for the civil servant to walk from one agency's building to another.

Not only ministry and agency's buildings, but the apartments were built too in Sejong city. Because civil servants also moved to start living in Sejong City. In 2017, when i studied there, many of my friends who are civil servants already lived in Sejong City.

Here I will introduce you some places in the Sejong City (I miss those places already T.T).

KDI School of Public Policy and Management

The first place is definitely my lovely school, KDI School of Public Policy and Management, which stands for Korea Development Institute - School of Public Policy and Management. This is a graduate school specialized for Master Degree Studies in the field of Public Policy, Public Management, and Development Policy. If you ever think about continuing your study in those areas, maybe this school can be one of your options.

The National Library of Sejong City

One of the greatest architectural buildings I've ever seen in real life. This is the main library of Sejong City, super large and very comfortable if you want to study here. If you don't know how to read hangeul, you can also find some books written in English here.

The Presidential Archive

It's similar to museum, the place to exhibit the records of Korea's Presidents. With such a great building, facilities, and ambience, I believe you will not getting bored learning history of Korea's Presidents in this building.

Sejong Lake Park

The besttttttttt park in Sejong City. This park is not only large but also very beautiful with the Sejong Lake in the middle of the park. People like to gather here just to relax or take an afternoon walk. Some events also like to be held here, that's why if you're lucky enough, you can meet your favorite idols who might have little concert in this area.

Government Complex Area

As the new administrative city, of course there is new government complex built in this city. The government buildings are close to each other and are built in one area, maybe to make it easier to communicate and perform the tasks.

Milmaru Observatory

I believe it's the highest place in Sejong, from up here you can watch the whole of Sejong City.

Sejong City Mall (Home Plus Sejong)

My favorite Mall in Sejong City, because at that time it's the only department store close from my dormitory hehe. As other department stores, there are clothes and shoes stores, restaurants, and supermarket as well.

Sejong Apartment Complex

I like to walk around this area, or maybe to find the toppoki or kimbab store which are close to this area. And there is also No Brand Store near the apartment complex hehe. Very cheap to buy groceries there.

Mt. Goehwa Neighborhood Park

Korean people like to hiking, and it's the closest hiking areas from our school. The location is just next to our dormitory hehe. I hiked here with my country mates. We lost in the middle of the journey, and somehow we ended up went down and arrive near government complex. Finally we went back to our dormitory using the bus lol. What a hiking experience.

Handuri Bridge

The aesthetic bridge in Sejong City, really nice to cycling here or just taking a picture here lol. I found this bridge is also featured in one of Korean dramas, monstar.

Sejong Bus Terminal

If you want to go to the other city, you should buy your bus tickets here and wait for your bus in this terminal. When i lived there, I go to Seoul too many times lol, that's why this Sejong Bus terminal is one of my favorite places as well wkwk.

Korea University Sejong Campus

If you go to a more distant area, near Jochiwon, you can somehow arrive at this beautiful campus. I was really curious about this Korea University because it's one of the best universities in Korea and actually they have their second campus location in Sejong City. That's why i didn't want to miss the chance to visit this university.

That's all the story of my beloved city, my second home, Sejong city.

Sejong City will always have a special place in my heart. Every time I remember Sejong City, I will remember all my lovely friends, my great professors, and the beautiful memories saved there.
